ARG0002ztz - extended radio source in a spiral galaxy
-
by JeanTate
The radio source is relatively faint - just ~3 contours - but it is extended.
The counterpart optical and IR sources are SDSS J102332.60+105734.9, and 2MASX J10233259+1057353; a.k.a. NGC 3217. It's a nearby starburst disturbed spiral galaxy, z=0.032:

Could be some nuclear (AGN) emission, or starburst. Not that unusual, but a nice nearby counterpart to the very distant star-forming galaxies we'll be surveying with next generation.
