SDSS vs IR

So an interesting picture here where we have #Hourglass from both SDSS J110715.75+053311.8 and SDSS J110715.88+053306.7, one of which is easily visible and the other is almost invisible in SDSS. I'm guessing based on previous images that the one it calls a "star" (the "south" signal) is actually a quasar, but the "north" one is almost as strong in radio and IR, but it took random clicking on "black" areas in SDSS to find there was actually another galaxy out there that was producing this. So what gives?
