ARG00018z1 - one source or two (independent) sources?

  • JeanTate by JeanTate

In the center is a core (z_sp 0.363 SDSS J092857.81+381906.3, merging ETG? image below) plus lobe. To the E is detached radio source, a core+bent jet (perhaps), or a decaying lobe. It may be associated with z_ph ~0.36 SDSS J092902.85+381850.7 (second image below).

This seems to be near the core of a rich cluster (center of image is the first, bright, radio source):

To me this looks like two separate sources. The redshifts suggest they are in the same group/cluster so both maybe nat (it is slightly conspicuous that they point away from each other), although the emission is weak enough that FIRST might be missing the opposite lobes. There is no IR candidate host that might make me think this is a single doublelobe source and it would be quite a chance alignment to have both lobes directly on top of foreground galaxies like this.

Hard to tell. At this point, the low resolution of the IR images is hurting, as it the fact that we need deeper radio contours to see what the underlying structure is.
