ARG00020zz - an #ifrs?

  • JeanTate by JeanTate

This was to be a post about ARG0002ozz, but I mis-read "o" as "0". Having done the work, I thought I'd post it anyway ...

A somewhat elongated, compact quite bright source:

Here's an SDSS image with the same scale, but centered on (257.556542, 25.054833), which are - per NED - the J2000.0 coordinates of the radio source(s) B2 1708+25, NVSS J171013+250317, VLSS J1710.2+2503, and three others; strangely NED does not list FIRSTJ171013.5+250317:

Per SDSS, there's nothing there; so is this an #ifrs?

Boilerplate: SDSS image per http://skyservice.pha.jhu.edu/DR10/ImgCutout/getjpeg.aspx, FIRST (red) contours derived from FITS file produced using SkyView with Python code described in this RGZ Talk thread. Image center per the ARG image (left; J2000).
