ARG00013o3 - A z=0.110 Seyfert 2 with huge doublelobes

  • JeanTate by JeanTate

The host seems to be SDSS J131143.08+405859.7, which NED gives S2 as the classification (narrow-line Seyfert), and the SDSS automated spectroscopic pipeline says is an AGN.

Is the host a boring elliptical?

Is it green? The [OIII] emission lines are certainly strong, at least rivaling Hα; and at z=0.11 [OIII] emission is in the r band (mapped to G). However, the continuum is not so faint as to be barely detectable - as it is in Green Peas and Green Beans - so the green is muted.

Boilerplate: SDSS image per http://skyservice.pha.jhu.edu/DR10/ImgCutout/getjpeg.aspx, FIRST (red) and NVSS (cyan) contours derived from FITS files produced using SkyView with Python code described in this RGZ Talk thread. Image center (J2000.0) is the galaxy [); "z_sp" its SDSS spectroscopic redshift. SDSS J131143.08+405859.7
