Yep, that's the z_sp 0.550 host of the triple. The red-orange blob to the NE is SDSS J090412.02+153003.9, z_ph ~0.61. And the red fuzz is z_ph ~0.68 SDSS J090411.80+153006.2 (left), with the faint irregular yellowish+green tinge z_ph ~0.46 SDSS J090411.65+152958.7 (right):
All in all, some kind of gigantic, messy merger, involving several huge galaxies*? Coincidental line-of-sight unrelated objects? Some combo? Only higher resolution image (or perhaps deep IFU spectroscopy) could tell, I think.
*Despite seeming otherwise, all the z_ph's are consistent with ~0.55.
