potential candidate for radio star?

  • WizardHowl by WizardHowl

The radio source here is weak but seems to be diffuse rather than a compact point source, though it is certainly not large on the sky. The host seems to be SDSS J075225.27+244423.6 which has a spectrum classed as a K5 star. NED shows no references for this object and no galaxies nearby, though the nearest optical object SDSS J075225.65+244420.5 might be a distant QSO from purely visual inspection.

Though weak in FIRST, the radio source is clearer and possibly slightly more extended in NVSS but does not appear to be associated with the compact radio source due SE. Given the ever-present hazard of source confusion, might this be a candidate for a radio star? Or does the diffuse nature mean it is definitely a background source that happens to have a star on its line-of-sight?

Red is FIRST, Blue is NVSS

I think it is a lobe of the double with host ALLWISE J075228.30+244345.8

I think that radio stars are usually point sources so it is probable that this is background source.
