Structure within lobes

The outer lobes of this triple are nicely symmetrical and each seems to have two brighter spots of radio emission within it. The wide field FIRST image shows this quite clearly, but it's also suggested by the contours. Why might this be? Is there some "bunching" or modulation in the jets?
