ARG0002743 - how to describe the radio morphology? What is going on??

  • JeanTate by JeanTate

ARG0002743 has the radio source FIRSTJ110528.1+223732 at its center.

There are three, very distinct, local maxima in the radio flux, two pairs of which could be #hourglass.

How to describe the radio morphology? And what hashtag to use (other than #wow!)?

How does this radio morphology arise?

There is no obvious host, or hosts; however, z_ph 0.20 SDSS J110528.62+223726.1 may be one:

    I'll do an overlay later.

It is either 1 very odd radio galaxy or an overlap of 2 radio galaxies. If you think it's 1, then #bent could be sufficient. Otherwise #bhgroup would also infer the presence of multiple BH in the field even if one is #ifrs.

    Thanks Ivy.

If it's #bent, it's unlike any I've seen here in RGZ (that I remember anyway); maybe one of the super-zooites - who've done far more classifications than I have - could comment?

Are there any plans to follow up these kinds of complete odd-balls?

    Yep; a #compact (host z_ph 0.69 SDSS J110528.38+223714.8):

    and a #doublelobe (host z_ph 0.20 SDSS J110528.62+223726.1):

The image in this post was created from sources, and using methods, described in this RGZ Talk post. The object at the center of the image is SDSS J110528.62+223726.1
