    Is the largest group of contours caused by two separate black holes, one within and one outside the galaxy interacting with each other, or is it one extended object?

    That is a great question @Cardiffian.

    Because the host is very green (see the SDSS image), my hunch is that this is a single system. It's certainly very unusual.

    Yes this is indeed unusual but it appears to be common for the green DRAGNs. I am currently working on the sample of these green DRAGN which attempts to explain what we are seeing. Our preliminary analysis at the moment is that green DRAGNs appear to live in rather calm regions and not clusters.
