In ARG0001b1q: gorgeous lime-green EELR!

  • JeanTate by JeanTate

In the center of ARG0001b1q is a possibly extended #compact. The host is zsp 0.152 SDSS J161647.31+371621.2:

The SDSS spectroscopic pipeline classes this as an AGN, which the host certainly has (the two unmarked emission lines in the deep blue are almost certainly highly ionized forbidden lines), but I think the intense [OIII] emission is more likely due to the extended EELR, which shows up as the lime-green cloud:

Curiously - or not - the radio emission seems centered on the EELR, not the nucleus!! 😮

But a contour overlay will tell ... on order.

Here's the overlay, and the SIMBAD reference.

The contour overlay image in this post was created from sources, and using methods, described in this RGZ Talk
    thread.
