ARG0002m54 triple centre and diffuse extended emission ESE

  • ChrisMolloy by ChrisMolloy

Here's ARG0002m54, which appears to be a #triple centre west, and a #diffuse extended emission to the ESE.

The contour overlay image in this post was created from sources, and using methods, described in this RGZ Talk
    thread.

Regarding a host for the #triple, there is an AlLWISE reference in the centre of the lobes, ALLWISE J160546.94+154938.3, but there doesn't appear to be any photometric object listed in SDSS, which aligns with the centre of the emission. However, SDSS J160546.54+154938.6, which is ~6" W of the centre of the lobes, and is listed as a star, does have an NVSS reference in NED.

As for the #diffuse emission to the ESE, there are no ALLWISE references that align with the centre of this lobe. However, there is First emission from SDSS J160552.92+154908.4, which is centred more on the E side of the lobe, and there is an ALLWISE reference for this galaxy, ALLWISE J160552.92+154908.5. SDSS J160552.92+154908.4 has a z_sp=0.041 +/-0.00002. As per the classification comments left, SDSS J160552.92+154908.4 could be the host of the emission.

I'm not sure that I believe the ESE extension as it seems aligned with some processing artefacts and is not detected in NVSS which is usually pretty good at detecting diffused emission....
