Source overlap?

  • bmingo by bmingo

The left set of contours look rather interesting, and the fact that there is an IR source there, partially coincident with them, makes me wonder whether the left lobe from the triple (lobes+core) source is overlapping with a compact foreground/background radio source.

Yes, I think you're right; this is a pretty clear example of #overlap

As noted in the comments, the main source is a #triple, with zsp 1.209 QSO host SDSS J095227.18+224006.1:

The other source, to the E, is an Eos (edge-on spiral), zph 0.211±0.031 SDSS J095229.32+223959.7:

And with such different redshifts, we can be sure that these radio sources are unrelated (the QSO is far in the background of the Eos).

Perhaps this might be of interest to radio astronomers? Using a bright, background source to probe the ISM and IGM in/near an edge-on disk galaxy?
