ARG0001v5x, doublelobe, SDRAGN candidate?

  • ChrisMolloy by ChrisMolloy

    Here's ARG0001v5x, a #doublelobe.

The contour overlay image in this post was created from sources, and using methods, described in this RGZ Talk
    thread.

The host appears to be SDSS J145643.71+273917.9, which has a z_ph=0.144 ± 0.0237, and an ALLWISE reference, ALLWISE J145643.70+273918.7. There doesn't appears to be any other radio references for this galaxy.

    SDSS J145643.71+273917.9

Zoomed in image of SDSS J145643.71+273917.9, which could also be slightly #green.

As per the classification comments left, and whether this galaxy is an #SDRAGN candidate, it has a fracDev_g, _r, of 0.476 and 0.602, and an expAB_g of 0.442 and expAB_r of 0.405 respectively. For c, the inverse concentration index, it has a figure of 0.391 for the g band and 0.376 for the r band. On the above parameters, it could be an #SDRAGN candidate, but again, this galaxy is relatively faint.

    As always, comments, suggestions, welcome.

    Nice work Chris! 😃

It's a pity there's no radio emission (FIRST or NVSS) from the candidate's nucleus, or from any possible host in the SDSS field; without such, it's nigh on impossible to be sure the host has been correctly identified.
