ARG00016g7 #triple, disk galaxy?

  • ChrisMolloy by ChrisMolloy

Here's ARG00016g7, which appears to be a #compact lobe in First with an additional lobe to the SE. There is extended emission in NVSS to the WNW.

    enter image description here

The contour overlay image in this post was created from sources, and using methods, described in this RGZ Talk
    thread.
First contours are red, NVSS cyan.

The host at the centre of the emission is SDSS J141651.28+393903.6, which has a z_sp=0.2103 +/-0001, and is listed as having First flux emission in SDSS DR7. Furthermore, there are radio references in NED and SIMBAD for this galaxy, and there is an ALLWISE reference, ALLWISE J141651.28+393903.8.

    SDSS J141651.28+393903.6

    enter image description here

As for SDSS J141651.28+393903.6 being a spiral or disk galaxy, it has a fracDev_g, _r, of 0.463 and 0.590, and an expAB_g of 0.615 and expAB_r of 0.637 respectively. For c, the inverse concentration index, it has a figure of 0.422 for the g band and 0.393 for the r band. On the above parameters, there is the possibility that this could be a disk galaxy, but definitively, this is hard to say.

And as per the classification comments left, and whether this emission is a triple, others may wish to comment more on this.

    As always, comments, suggestions, welcome.

    Very nice!

The host galaxy is, IMHO, definitely not a boring elliptical, so an #SDRAGN candidate. The radio morphology is ... hard to say for certain ...
