ARG0003ev9: bent triple? Three separate sources? Something else?

  • JeanTate by JeanTate

I can't think of a possible set of hosts/morphologies that would be normal (other than the strongest source being a #compact).

My choice is that there is just one host, zsp 0.430 QSO SDSS J080842.90+055043.7, with #restarted #asymmetric #bent #lobes. What do you think?

I'll add it to the overlay list.

To me, this looks like three separate sources.

That's certainly a tempting interpretation. And the NE radio source could be a #hybrid #triple, or a #NAT, with host STAR SDSS J080844.42+055107.8 (an unrecognized QSO). Or one of its neighbors (all STARs):

However, the S/SE radio source would then be a mystery: no obvious hosts, and how come so strong?

Just thinking about this one. This may be a case of chance alignment - just based on what you have said about the host galaxies. the compact part of the southern one without a host may just be overlaid on the diffuse emission from the other part that corresponds to another galaxy.

Here's the overlay. Don't know if this helps.

The contour overlay image in this post was created from sources, and using methods, described in this RGZ Talk
    thread.
