ARG0000eva - weird morphology, Wat?

  • ChrisMolloy by ChrisMolloy

Here's ARG0000eva. This emission has been described as #messy, two #core-jets, #compact, and could also be a #Wat. It also has a cross reference, ARG0000ev0.

The contour overlay image in this post was created from sources, and using methods, described in this RGZ Talk
    thread.
First contours in red, Wise Band 1 lime green.

The emission seems to be centred on SDSS J112845.50+532923.4, which has a z_ph=0.513 ± 0.2008, and lists First flux emission. It also has radio references in NED, and an ALLWISE reference, ALLWISE J112845.48+532923.4. There are also radio references in SIMBAD, just to the west of this galaxy, but there doesn't appear to be any photometric objects listed at this location in SDSS.

There does appear to be a radio reference in NED located near the NW lobe. This is centred on SDSS J112842.80+532931.7, which has a z_ph=0.309 ± 0.1130. Whether this is related to the emission is anyones guess.

Finally, two of the Wise Band 1 emissions, centred on SDSS J112842.22+532932.4,which has a z_ph=0.577 ± 0.0306, and SDSS J112841.01+532942.4, which has a z_ph=0.589 ± 0.0632, respectively, are at the same redshift as SDSS J112845.50+532923.4. Seeing as this appears to be a #group or small #cluster, maybe this had some influence on the weird unusual First emission.

    That one is so weird!

Are you able to get a larger FIRST image? I'm curious if we have detected the structure of a large radio lobe that corresponds to the compact radio galaxy in the lower left. For some reason I can't access FIRST.

(I may have to change browsers.)

I'm having problems loading First also. Here's a larger image.

Looks like the radio emission doesn't belong to anything else.

I can load the FIRST image if I go to the webpage and input the values myself. I'll send in a report to the developers as they may have changed the server inputs.
