ARG000070k unusual emissions, hosts?

  • ChrisMolloy by ChrisMolloy

Here's ARG000070k. This appears to be possibly a #doublelobe, with one of the lobes maybe #overlapping another emission, and a #faint #compact east of the centre lobe. This ARG field is cross referenced in the How to describe the morphology? thread.

The contour overlay image in this post was created from sources, and using methods, described in this RGZ Talk
    thread.
    First in red.

There are radio references in NED for SDSS J082325.19+582456.1, which appears to be south of the centre lobes.

As for the emission to the NE there are radio references in NED for SDSS J082334.12+582521.5, which is south of this emission.

And as per the classification comments left both these emissions in this ARG field appear to be #noir and #no-optical.

    As always, comments, suggestions, welcome.

Seems that the contour overlay image is not centered FIRSTJ082325.9+582509 (the "Survey Id"; it's name translates to (125.8579, 58.4192)), or is it my eyes playing tricks?

In NVSS it looks like a classic #double, so maybe it is, with the host the barely-detected WISE source ~mid-way between them? And the odd "appendage" on the central source is a faint compact, quite unrelated?

Yes, this is correct. There are no photometric objects listed at those co-ordinates, or near them. I centred the ARG contour slightly west. Should have mentioned this.
