ARG0001txo, x-shaped with background compact lobe?

  • ChrisMolloy by ChrisMolloy

Here's ARG0001txo, which appears to have an extremely #unusual radio morphology. The emissions in this ARG field could be a #nat or #wat and/or possibly one or more radio emissions and hosts.

The contour overlay image in this post was created from sources, and using methods, described in this RGZ Talk
    thread.
    First in red.

There are radio references in NED for SDSS J155306.77+281114.6, which has a z_ph=0.297 ± 0.1098. There doesn't appear to be any other radio references for this galaxy. This object is quite SSW from the centre of the lobes.

There is First flux radio emission listed in SDSS DR14 for SDSS J155306.64+281106.8, which has a z_sp=0.526 +/-0.00014. This galaxy is at the SSW edge of the emission. This object has an ALLWISE reference, ALLWISE J155306.63+281106.9, although there doesn't appear to be any other radio references in NED nor Simbad for this galaxy. The visible compact lobe which is centred on this galaxy (especially in the ARG image left), appears separate from the main emission in this ARG field.

Finally, here's the First cut-out of this ARG field, which doesn't add anything to discerning the morphology of this emission. Excluding the possible #compact lobe centred on SDSS J155306.64+281106.8, the morphology could almost be #x-shaped, with SDSS J155306.64+281106.8 being a background source. If this is an #x-shaped morphology, there doesn't appear to be any apparent host. Could this be an #ifrs emission?
