ARG00012c2, unusual morphology, host/s?

  • ChrisMolloy by ChrisMolloy

    Here's ARG00012c2, which is an #unusual emission, maybe even a #hybrid.

The contour overlay image in this post was created from sources, and using methods, described in this RGZ Talk
    thread.
    First in red.

A possible host for this emission, if all the lobes visible are connected from one source, could be SDSS J153504.49+414251.2. This galaxy has a z_sp=0.119 +/-0.00002, requisite radio references in NED, and recorded First flux emission. This object has an ALLWISE reference, ALLWISE J153504.50+414251.3, and is also noted as the brightest galaxy in a cluster in SIMBAD.

    SDSS J153504.49+414251.2

There are a number of other radio references for this emission in NED and SIMBAD. In SIMBAD, there is a particular reference for a radio source north of SDSS J153504.49+414251.2, which appears to be positioned in-between both lobes. Whether this, or any of the other possible radio sources are the host of the emission is hard to ascertain.

As for the radio morphology of the emission, others may have a view on this, but the lobes do appear related, and possibly even #hybrid. First cut-out below.

    As always, comments, suggestions, welcome.

    Wow! 😮

My take: it's an #overlap, with both SDSS J153504.49+414251.2 and zph ??? SDSS J153506.11+414236.2 (weird that it doesn't have a zph, eh?) as hosts; both #core. But how to describe the radio morphologies (other than core)?

Another wonderful source from A1001, well done! 😃
