ARG0000t95, extended doublelobe with compact
-
by ChrisMolloy
Here's ARG0000t95, which appears to be a very extended #doublelobe centre, with a #compact lobe to the west.
The contour overlay image in this post was created from sources, and using methods, described in this RGZ Talk
thread. First in red.The host for the centre emission appears to be SDSS J102714.83+460256.8, which has a z_sp=0.526 +/- 0.00003. This galaxy has radio references in NED and SIMBAD, and an ALLWISE reference, ALLWISE J102714.81+460256.4. It is cited as being an #AGN, has recorded First flux emission, and does seem to have emissions that are #overlapping. As per the ARG comments left, this emission is what is:
known as a "double-double" source. So you are seeing 2 episodes of activity in this radio AGN.
The #compact lobe to the west appears to be positioned on SDSS J102710.48+460255.1. This object has a z_ph=0.464 ± 0.1463, and recorded First flux emission. There doesn't appear to be any radio references in NED or SIMBAD for this galaxy, nor an ALLWISE reference.
This ARG field has not been imaged in VLASS as yet.
As always, comments, suggestions, welcome.
