IR Sources

Are images with pronounced radio contours more likely to have a corresponding IR component? In this example, could the two radio contours be associated with the IR dot closer to the bottom right?

If you think the two radio lobes go together, the IR component is associated with both of them. It can be a little off-centre (i.e. closer to one radio lobe than the other). In most cases, the radio emission should be slightly extended towards the IR galaxy. Here, both sets of radio contours are elongated towards the fainter IR galaxy (i.e. closer to bottom right). So I'd say you are right, that's the IR counterpart. Thanks for the good question!
