Is this compact object a chance alignment?

  Might the SDSS description be incomplete? Any guidance appreciated.

  A triple I found was on a "star" and it was suggested this indicates a quasar ... bright enough to "trick" SDSS nto thinking its a star from the way I interpret it.

  Yes, "star" in SDSS simply means that it was unresolved, so "star-like" -- if it were bright enough, they would have taken a spectrum and likely recognized it as a quasar.
