ARG0001rmx - is this an artifact? or a real source plus an artifact?

The apparent host - CGCG 156-051 - has a SDSS spectrum classified as QSO AGN BROADLINE, and its nucleus seems star-like:
But the FIRST radio has a really strange morphology ...
The image in this post was created from sources, and using methods, described in this RGZ Talk post. The object at the center of the image is SDSS J111752.64+291816.1

IMO real compact? source (visible in NVSS ) and artifact ( messy thingy visible in FIRST )

This is quite spectacular if it's an artifact, which given lack of emission in NVSS (Andernach) and WENSS, makes that likely. I would have bet on it being real even looking at the larger scale FIRST image.

OK, I agree there is an NVSS source of just below 2 mJy (not in NVSS cat.), but the integrated flux in FIRST appears many times 2 mJy => inconsistent or extremely variable?
