ARG0000y4g - how to describe the radio morphology?

  • JeanTate by JeanTate

That there's a radio-bright core (host zph 0.56 SDSS J095007.57+434403.0) is obvious. To the W (right) is a bent plume, with the hotspot close to the core, unlike most lobes (where the hotspot is ~at the end of the plume). To the E (left) is something similar, but much fainter.

Is this an example of a #restarted source?

I don't think restarted. no structure on larger scales. likely two jets but asymmetric in brightness so that one side is just detectable. but i think this could be a very young source, that hasn't yet developed its full plumes. interesting and hard to tell.

    Thanks.

How common, among doublelobes, is it to find ones with the hotspots at the 'core' ends, rather than at the 'far' ends?

It is common to get knots along the jet which appear as hotspots when the jet encounters a medium and changes direction.
