Radio Galaxy Zoo Talk

Which Galaxy?

Wasn't sure which galaxy the radio signals were associated with so I marked them both. Is there a way of telling which is the correct galaxy?

    Tough!

Myself, I'd say the radio source in the center is a lobe, with the core (host) one of the objects in the center here (there seems to be no counterlobe, not in FIRST, nor in NVSS):

If instead the radio source in the center of the field does have a host very close by (on the sky!), I don't think there's any way to decide which of the objects nearby, in this SDSS cutout, is it. At least, not without a lot more data, such as detailed spectra, deep x-ray observations, that sort of thing.

Glad it wasn't just me then!

I agree that it's tough and I cannot say with too much certainty without follow-up observations either.
