patchy diffuse emission

There are two areas of weak, #diffuse radio emission that do not look very much like plumes and which do not appear to be associated with IR sources. Could this be from star formation in galaxies too distant/obscured by dust to show up in IR? The central region of radio emission in the image resembles a #corejet and overlaps with two IR sources, one quite bright, so not completely sure which is the source - it does not seem associated with the diffuse sources, though.
