Radio emissions or artifact?

Are the radio emission in this image really as long as they appear, covering the hight of almost the entire image, or are they only as as long as suggested by the brightest sections?

This is a very nice #double source, but the diagonal line going through the two lobes and extending across the image is an artifact.
