I doubt that it's a supernova. What is it about the image - either radio or IR or both - that suggests to you that it might be?

This is likely just a very distant radio galaxy nucleus. Radio supernovae are quite rare, and we would almost certainly see a very large (nearby) optical galaxy in that case. Left over emission (100s to 1000s of years) from a supernova (supernova remnants) are typically much bigger (about the size of the frame), unless they're in a nearby galaxy (which again is missing here).
