Large Radio Masses with No Infrared

The radio contours seem to be grouping the two objects as separate. But it looks to me like the radio mass in the center has budded off from the mass on the left (or vice versa).
Also seems like the stars in the infrared are much closer than whatever is causing the radio disturbances; I doubt any of the infrared in this shot is causally connected to the radio masses. Which is a shame because it looks like something big is going on back there!
