Galaxy with a tail

SDSS J110024.73+125210.2 looks like it has a tail in the IR, is that a real structure and if so what caused it?

My 2-cents: I don't think it's real; rather, there's a faint IR source to the SW (SDSS J110024.14+125158.1, green!) and it's sufficiently close to be unresolved in WISE; there's an even fainter source - not an SDSS photometric object - along the same arc (it may be barely resolved in the WISE image). These combine to give the appearance of a tail.

But how cool would it be if it were real? 😄
