    Perhaps it's a #triple, with the host the faint blue-white blob at the SW tip of the 'not green' object (itself a strong emission line galaxy which the SDSS spectroscopic pipeline automatically classifies as STARBURST)?

    This is where higher resolution IR images would be helpful. If you follow the link to the WISE images, many of the foreground (lower redshift) star forming galaxies would be seen in WISE Bands 3 & 4. So in the series of WISE bands, you'll see that we have an overlap of multiple sources at multiple redshifts.
