Sadly still unclear

Seems pretty clear to me ... whatever it is, it's not a 'boring elliptical'.
To me the CFHT R-band image is pretty unambiguous, it's a highly inclined (to our line of sight) two-arm spiral galaxy.
But is it truly the host of the #doublelobes? Overlay on order ...

SDSS / FIRST
Yellow circles are SDSS objects, Green circles are AllWISE sources
well, debatable
Also
CFHT G-band
Same only less prominient bulge

FIRST on CFHT
IMHO SDSS J165532.41+411732.5 look like it lies on radio axis

I would say that the host could be located in the middle contours to the left of the optical galaxy in question. Probably not something you wanted to hear.

STAR SDSS J165532.15+411726.5 may be the host:
The contour overlay image in this post was created from sources, and using methods, described in this RGZ Talk thread.
