nice #triple looks like it is turning

Hi, could someone explain this picture to me? Can one black hole emit three jets? Or are these radio signals unrelated to each others?

    Posted

  • omicronCeti by omicronCeti

Is the round shape included in the upper jet part of the jet, or a bright background radio source?

    Stunning #triple with possible #rotation.

  • Cardiffian by Cardiffian

#interesting The galaxy has a radio signal coming directly from it, plus the two jets, the upper left jet may have another source behind.

    Posted

  • DocR by DocR scientist

Yes, pretty source. In the upper left, the compact component is usually called a "hot spot", a place where the jet terminated/dumped power.

    Posted

  • rlphfgr by rlphfgr

Would you considerate this a doublelobe?

    Posted

  • manthostz by manthostz

no dought that there is a black hole

    Posted

  • Crazenhaif by Crazenhaif

    possible jet precession.

    Posted

  • ivywong by ivywong scientist, admin

Yes, there is some possibility of asymmetric hotspots. Alternatively, this could be a coincidence with a more distant source.

  • lprimucc by lprimucc

Any guess as to whats happening here?

    Posted

  • rosemarybillington by rosemarybillington

Possible black hole in the centre of two #jets , possible #doublelobe , one of which has no IR, but does incorporate a third radio source.

    Posted

  • sealbraun by sealbraun

Can it be due to gravitational lensing with one distant source in the middle ?

    Posted

  • Daiveed by Daiveed

Three unusual sets of contours. ?? What is this?

  • HAndernach by HAndernach scientist, translator
